This magazine AD is specifically designed for Scout Magazine: Boston. The dimensions and rounded edges comply with Scout's Magazine dimensions. Scout Magazine includes local restaurants, and the ads generally consist of a large image with minimal copy. I tried to incorporate the "eat local" feeling that is now trending and fit's with the Scout Magazine's theme of supporting local businesses. The picture chosen reflects how close the food is to the river, implying freshness. The Half Shell normally uses dark tones with gold, however I chose whites and light grey for this ad to market more towards women, who would most likely be looking at the Scout magazine.

It helps to vision your ad in an actual magazine (good research). The word that comes to mind when viewing your design is fresh - it is nice to see new direction in your ad campaign with regards to color and tone.
